The reservoir is a place I walk, and run, and chat, and sometimes just sit. I like to be near the water, especially when the level is high. I never feel I have to have a reason to go to the

Reservoir. I like that I nearly always meet someone I know when I’m there; it reminds me I’m part of a community.

In recent years I’ve been organising creative projects and events in communities around the Reservoir. It’s a source of inspiration for many. But it’s also a really important public space, a space for everyone, and it’s critical it remains that way.

I’m involved with a number of local organisations in addition to ERCO.

Hello! I visit the reservoir almost every day and love it more and more each time I visit. It's not perfect, it's a little rough round the edges, but to me that's all part of the Reservoir’s beauty and charm.

Most importantly to me, the reservoir is a place which everyone can enjoy. A place where everyone is free to be themselves.  You can see that by taking a stroll around the rezza at different times of any given day: it means different things to different people and is loved by so many.

I think that's one of the reasons I have fallen in love with it; rarely does a place reflect the diversity of a city so perfectly as Edgbaston Reservoir does.  This is why I helped to found ERCO and have a passion for protecting and enhancing the reservoir as a green and open public space, to ensure that it can be enjoyed by all for generations to come.

I am an artist & producer who moved near  to the Edgbaston Reservoir about 10 years ago.

I have completely fallen in love with the area and have been involved in a number of arts & community projects to support the area's unique mix of people, projects & nature in the middle of a major city.

For me the Reservoir is a welcome place to think, plan and appreciate the diversity of what makes Birmingham.

I walk and draw around the Reservoir. It’s a free and open expanse of semi-wild woodland and water in the middle of our city, so what’s not to like?  You sense how it changes when you’re standing on ground that’s yards under water in the winter.

Supposedly retired, I spend most of my time supporting people to create artworks that make sense to them. When not doing that, I cook Middle Eastern food or collect things with stories to them, like three hundred year old dinner plates.

I absolutely love finding ways to bring people together and I think the Reservoir does exactly that. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy nature, meet a range of people and just breathe.

To have the opportunity to manage ERCO's Social Media Channels means I am able to share the voice of the ERCO team but also connect with other lovers of the Reservoir.

I have a long term interest in protecting our wonderful places of nature and wildlife.

The reservoir was one of the first places that made a big impact on me when I moved to Birmingham over 35 years ago. I couldn’t believe how beautiful and vast it was, and it still is.

I am a frequent visitor, whether running, walking, or cycling there. Or even just being there sitting on a bench immersed in nature. When my daughters were young they used to love going there and now I have a new grandson who loves being there.

I have recently been involved with ERCO as at present the reservoir faces a big threat to it’s existence as a site of nature. I think it’s essential that as many people as possible get organised to stop the council’s plans to impose dense housing close to the waterside.
